Shinbaru Beach is popular among locals and tourists alike as a gay beach that can be enjoyed throughout the year in Okinawa. Typically, people bring beach chairs and sunbathe while waiting for potential encounters. In the absence of other people around, intimate activities may also take place. The most popular time is after 11 PM, and there is a majority of athletic and muscular individuals. However, if one prefers daytime visits, there are also many gay visitors during that time.
