The restroom on platform 13 of Ueno Station used to be a very famous gay cruising spot in Tokyo. Incidents of straight men being harassed were also common, so notices were put up warning against engaging in disruptive behavior. Platform 13 has since been renovated and the old crowd dispersed. There have also been cases of people pretending to be cruisers and surreptitiously taking photos to upload them, so everyone needs to be very careful!
